Cnoc An Eas Wind Farm March 2015Back

Force 9 Energy have arranged a second round of public exhibitions to highlight changes made to their Cnoc An Eas wind farm development following extensive public consultation over the last four months.

In a series of public exhibitions held in November Force 9 Energy sought views on their proposed Cnoc an Eas wind farm. Development Manager Andrew Smith commented :

"We listened carefully to the comments made during the first round of public exhibitions, and other discussions held with the local communities, and have made significant changes to our original plans. These changes involve both turbine numbers and the site layout".
"There were two particular views of the wind farm which were raised with us and we have worked hard to improve views from these locations and of the windfarm generally".

The new design for the Cnoc an Eas project, named after the hill on the proposed wind farm site, will be unveiled in a series of four public exhibitions during March in the local area.

Andrew Smith further commented: "It was good to hear the views of local people and we hope they will come and see for themselves the changes we have made in response to their comments, using our interactive displays."

At the exhibition Force 9 will also outline the significant economic benefits that the wind farm could bring to local businesses and the wider community as well as providing an update on the possibility of shared ownership with the local communities.

Cnoc an Eas wind farm is being developed by experienced UK developer, Force 9 Energy, working in partnership with EDF Energy Renewables. If the project is consented, EDF Energy Renewables would build, own and operate the wind farm. The proposed wind farm lies north of Loch Meiklie in Glenurquhart.

Force 9 Energy is an experienced wind farm developer with four wind farms in Scotland which are completed or consented and further projects in the planning process. Their completed wind farms are at Berryburn in Moray and Mark Hill in South Ayrshire.
