Dorcas Lane Wind Farm proposal set for public inquiry Sept 2013 Back

Force 9 Energy has submitted an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate following refusal of the Dorcas Lane Wind Farm planning application by the Strategic Development Control Committee at Aylesbury Vale District Council.

The 10 megawatt four-turbine wind farm would generate enough electricity to meet the average needs of over 4,900 homes as well as reducing carbon emissions by over 8,400 tonnes in comparison to electricity generated from conventional fossil fuel sources.

David Butterworth of Force 9 Energy said: “Dorcas Lane Wind Farm is a sustainable development proposal that accords with government policies to increase home grown, secure renewable energy generation and to reduce harmful carbon emissions. In view of this, we believe that the proposal deserves the highest level of consideration through an independent public inquiry.

“We have carefully reviewed the reasons cited for refusal and do not consider that the Council has attributed sufficient weight to relevant national energy policies. A public inquiry will provide an opportunity for us to present evidence that demonstrates that the site is a suitable location for a wind farm of this size.”
