Force 9 Energy has recently submitted the planning application to Dumfries and Galloway Council for their proposed Blackwood wind farm, located on the Blackwood Estate near Auldgirth - approximately 15km north of Dumfries. The proposed wind farm comprises of 5 x 2MW turbines, equating to a total installed capacity of 10MW.
Throughout the consultation process and going forward Force 9 Energy will liaise with the local community and appraise and update them as the proposals progress. The plans for Blackwood were formally displayed at a public exhibition in Auldgirth village hall in September 2011. Over 80 people attended the exhibition to view the proposals, and importantly feedback their comments through the public opinion survey. Following feedback received and continued liaison with local communities we have now submitted the application for the proposed 5 turbine scheme.
* Please note that this figure is based on 5 turbines with a rated capacity of 2MW operating at 26.35% capacity (long term average capacity factor for onshore wind from Digest of UK Energy Statistics) and assuming 4,266 is the average UK household electricity consumption in kW hours (based on DECCs publication URN:12D/468).
